Srur was attempting to put into practice the idea that artistic initiatives can communicate messages about social issues. Srur is part of a long and fruitful line of avant-garde artists who have sought to use the tools of artistic creation in a manner that connects art with the everyday lives of individuals, transforming public spaces into a platform for experimentation.
