Under consideration here are grammar, semantics and textual-discursiveness as constitutive dimensions of the spoken language. As such, the breadth of the project, while limited to the Portuguese language of São Paulo, will contribute to the History of Brazilian Portuguese Project, which encompasses studies of 11 other states: Pernambuco, Bahia, Paraíba, Alagoas, Ceará, Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro, Paraná, Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Norte and Pará.

Studies of complex and advanced new materials
Lead researcher: Marcelo Knobel
Institution: Gleb Wataghin Physics Institute / State University of Campinas (Unicamp)
Case: 2012/04870-7
Term: 01/01/2013 to 12/31/2016
Project: Continue to improve the study of electronic, structural, magnetic and thermodynamic properties under extreme conditions that include high magnetic fields, high pressures and low temperatures in highly correlated systems of metallic and semimetallic materials, superconductors, semiconductors, diluted magnetic semiconductors, ceramic oxides, multiferroics, graphites, graphemes, etc. To better understand these phenomena, the team plans to incorporate NMR/NQR, WDS, and FT-IR techniques and a lamp furnace to develop new monocrystalline oxides, which are required to analyze and prepare the new materials to be synthesized.

Hadron physics
Lead researcher: Marina Nielsen
Institution: Physics Institute/University of São Paulo (USP)
Case: 2012/50984-4
Term: 12/01/2012 to 11/30/2016
Project: The objective is to manage the activities of a reference team that has served as a unifying force in the field of hadron physics in Brazil. A number of laboratories are currently engaged in experimental efforts to study hadronic systems and measure the response of meson and baryon particles and that of the vacuum itself. These experiments offer good prospects for obtaining new data that will lead to a greater understanding of the subject.

Young researcher
Identification, production and characterization new regional allergens
Lead researcher: Keity Souza Santos
Institution: School of Medicine/USP
Case: 2012/14019-2
Term: 12/01/2012 to 11/30/2016
Project: Identify new allergens and study possible cross-reactivities with known allergens by establishing a method of clinical and laboratory research using a proteomic approach.
