Durigan and Rudge, who were appointed by S\u00e3o Paulo Governor Geraldo Alckmin, will hold four-year terms. New deans have also been designated to serve under the incoming administration. Laurence Duarte Colvara takes over as Dean of Undergraduate Studies; Eduardo Kokubun, Dean of Graduate Studies; Mari\u00e2ngela Spotti, Dean of Extension; and Carlos Antonio Gamero, Dean of Administration. Maria Jos\u00e9 Soares Mendes Giannini, a biochemist and member of the Board of Trustees of the S\u00e3o Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP), will continue on as Dean of Research. In attendance at the event were the Minister of Sports, Aldo Rebelo; Governor Alckmin; and Luiz Carlos Quadrelli, acting head of the Department of Economic Development, Science and Technology, and Herman Voorwald, head of the Department of Education. Durigan, who holds a doctorate from the University of S\u00e3o Paulo\u2019s Luiz de Queiroz School of Agriculture (Esalq\/USP), is currently a professor at Unesp\u2019s School of Agrarian and Veterinary Sciences in Jaboticabal and was coordinator of Agronomic Sciences at FAPESP from 1989 to 1994.
