This is what Jos\u00e9 Sabino, from the Anhanguera University (Uniderp), Walfrido Tomas, from the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa-Pantanal), and Arnildo Pott, from the Mato Grosso do Sul Federal University (UFMS) stressed during the third meeting of the Biota-FAPESP Education Conference Cycle, held in S\u00e3o Paulo on April 18th. According to them, approximately 5% of the pantanal is protected by conservation areas, which is insufficient to protect the region\u2019s animals.<\/p>\n<p>Biota-FAPESP Education Conference Cycle is an initiative of the Biota FAPESP Program, in partnership with <em>Pesquisa FAPESP<\/em> magazine.
