{"id":144077,"date":"2014-02-07T14:27:53","date_gmt":"2014-02-07T16:27:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/revistapesquisa.fapesp.br\/?p=144077"},"modified":"2014-02-07T14:27:53","modified_gmt":"2014-02-07T16:27:53","slug":"krieger-reappointed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/revistapesquisa.fapesp.br\/en\/krieger-reappointed\/","title":{"rendered":"Krieger is reappointed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Eduardo Moacyr Krieger, Professor Emeritus at the Ribeir\u00e3o Preto School of Medicine, University of S\u00e3o Paulo (USP), has been reappointed as vice president of FAPESP by the governor of S\u00e3o Paulo state, Geraldo Alckmin. The appointment was published in the Official Gazette of Sao Paulo state on September 27, 2013. Krieger, who coordinates the Translational Cardiology program at the Heart Institute (InCor), has served as vice president of the Foundation since 2010 and has been a member of the FAPESP Board of Trustees since 2007. In 1953 Krieger earned a medical degree from the Porto Alegre School of Medicine and was president of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences, the Brazilian Society of Physiology and the Federation of Societies for Experimental Biology. He also headed the Interamerican Society of Hypertension and the Brazilian Hypertension Society. Krieger pioneered the use of mice as a model to study the regulation of blood pressure in sleep and exercise.
