A professor from the Engineering School on the Guaratinguet\u00e1 campus Voorwald was vice dean under Marcos Macari, who headed up Unesp between 2005 and 2008. The new vice dean is Julio Cezar Durigan, from the School of Agrarian and Veterinarian Sciences in Jaboticabal. According to Voorwald,\u00a0 the priorities of his term in office will be to build up the teaching staff again, which has been depleted by retirements, and expand\u00a0 the number of students; set up a campus in the Barra Funda district in S\u00e3o Paulo; and consolidate the experimental campuses that were set up in 2008.
