In the New Ideas, Student category, the winners in the Industry, Energy and Health modalities were respectively, Rafael Guedes Abreu, from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul, with a system for monitoring vegetation clearance, Eric Costa, from the University Center of the Inaciana Educational Foundation (<i>FEI<\/i>), with carbon nanotubes to reduce losses in power transmission, and Cl\u00e1udia Karina Barbosa de Vasconcelos, from the Federal University of Ouro Preto (MG), with a device for monitoring radiation in the treatment of jaundice in the newly-born (<a href=\"http:\/\/revistapesquisa.fapesp.br\/en\/2008\/07\/01\/bathed-in-light\/?\" target=\"_blank\">Pesquisa FAPESP,<em> edition 149<\/em><\/a>).
