The first Brazilian species on the list (number ten) is the Sazima tarantula, <em>Pterinopelma sazimai<\/em>. Found in rocky high altitude grasslands and described by Rog\u00e9rio Bertani, Roberto Nagahama and Caroline Fukushima from the Butantan Institute, it is named after Ivan Sazima, a biologist from the State University of Campinas (Unicamp), who was the first person to collect the animal.
