In a letter, the university presidents invited city, state, and federal governments to avail themselves of the experience of the researchers at these universities who are studying water resources in order to better plan for adjustments to overall contingency plans. \u201cWe would like to emphasize our institutions\u2019 role in the current water crisis and affirm that we are organized and energized to propose joint action meant to cope with the scenarios that are likely to emerge in the short, medium, and long run,\u201d the letter says.
