Academic, cultural, and artistic events will be held over the coming 12 months, including concerts by Unicamp\u2019s Symphony Orchestra and faculty lectures on philosophy, art, and education for public elementary and high school teachers in Campinas, Limeira, and Piracicaba. In an interview to the newspaper Jornal da Unicamp, \u00cdtala D\u2019Ottaviano, chair of the events steering committee, said some activities will be undertaken in partnership with universities from other countries that were likewise founded in 1966. \u201cWe\u2019ve been contacted by the universities in Brunel and Bath, both in the United Kingdom. We\u2019ll be sponsoring joint events, here and in England as well,\u201d he said. The goal is to deepen the level of cooperation between institutions and discuss strategies for the next five decades. Programming includes the release of a collection of books on the history of Unicamp, one of which will address the evolution of the Department of Nursing, today a school in its own right.
