Now you can hear them. As from December 11, Radio Eldorado AM starts transmitting, every Saturday at 11:30 a.m. &#8211; with a repeat on the same day at 7:30 p.m., and on Sundays at 08:30 p.m. &#8211; the Brazil Research program, carried out by Pesquisa FAPESP in partnership with the radio station, from the same group that publishes the <em>Jornal da Tarde<\/em> and <em>O Estado de S. Paulo<\/em> newspapers, and with production by Cotta Hossepian\/Escrit\u00f3rio de Comunica\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n<p>The idea of doing a program based on the contents of the magazine arose at the end of 2003, following conversations between the management of the two communication vehicles, who share similar credibility and journalistic styles. &#8220;Eldorado is a journalistic radio that is always seeking excellence in content and innovation&#8221;, says Isabel Borba, an executive director of the broadcasting company. \u00a0&#8220;This will be our first experience aimed exclusively at popularizing science and technology.&#8221;\u00a0Presented by journalist Tatiana Ferraz, the program will enjoy the participation of Mariluce Moura, the editorial director of <em>Pesquisa FAPESP<\/em>. &#8220;This is a marriage of two talents&#8221;, Isabel comments.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Tatiana contributes to the program with her skill in communication and in interaction with the listener, while Mariluce adds her experience in popularizing science.&#8221; Each edition of <em>Research Brazil<\/em> will bring a main interview with Brazilian researchers about themes of weight dealt with in the magazine, which directly affect people?s lives.\u00a0 It will also highlight a scientific fact of the week, and will present news about recent researches, like the discovery of genetic alterations that favor smoking less, and technological innovation on the way to the market, like the propelling pencil leads that have become more resistant with the addition of nanocompounds.<\/p>\n<p>The listener will also have the opportunity for recalling significant scientific facts, such as the contribution of the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) to physics, or the German naturalist Fritz M\u00fcller in the south of Brazil, commented on in the Memory section, and will able to remove his doubts in the Pesquisa answers section. &#8220;We will record the questions and look for researchers to answer them&#8221;, explains Milton Leite, the editor in chief of the radio stations team of reporters.\u00a0Transmitting at the frequency of 700 kHz, Eldorado AM reaches the population of S\u00e3o Paulo and of the towns up to 100 kilometers from S\u00e3o Paulo&#8217;s capital city &#8211; it is also possible to accompany the programs by Direct TV and by the radio&#8217;s website, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.radioeldoradoam.com.br\">www.radioeldoradoam.com.br<\/a>. &#8220;Our effort will be to present scientific subjects in a language accessible to the lay public&#8221;, claims Eldorado&#8217;s editor-in-chief.
