The mixture was developed by Joel Lamounier, Fl\u00e1vio Capanema and Daniela Rocha, from the Medical School of the Federal University of Minas Gerais, and is being tested in 24 cr\u00e8ches in Belo Horizonte. The results so far are promising. The group detected a drop of 69% in the prevalence of anemia among the 321 children examined. The indices of malnutrition and growth deficit also fell.
