For the third time <em>EESC<\/em>&#8211;<em>USP<\/em> <em>Charlie<\/em>, from <em>USP\u2019s<\/em> S\u00e3o Carlos Engineering School won the Open Class, by carrying 19.33 kg, and the Car-Kar\u00e1 Open team from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, was second. In the Regular Category airplanes have a single, standard 10 cc cylinder engine. In the Open Class there is no limit on the number of engines, provided the total does not exceed 14.9 cc. Almost 800 students from 72 teams took part in the competition that was organized by the Society of Mobility Engineers (<em>SAE<\/em>).
