The meeting will address the role of professors, scientific publishers and funding agencies in promoting a culture of integrity at universities and research institutions. For the first time, the event will invite oral presentations and posters, in thematic sessions on policies of integrity and education. Presentations can be submitted until August 2, 2016 at brispe2016.org. “Scientific production on integrity has grown in recent years. One of Brispe’s objectives is to disseminate these presentations to stimulate the field of research,” says Sonia Vasconcelos, a professor at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and organizer of the event.

Another new development will be a course on mechanisms for correcting scientific literature. “Errors identified in articles are often the result of honest mistakes, rather than a product of bad faith. Publishers are mindful of this and want to make the correction process more transparent,” explains Vasconcelos, for whom holding the Brispe meeting in the state of Goiás represents a way to publicize these discussions on a national level. The first editions of the meeting focused on the South-Southeast axis.

[155
226,230
785
post-228991","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-good-practices","tag-education","tag-ethics
["GET
