S\u00e3o Paulo State will be home to 33 of the 101 centers. The program is funded by the federal government through the CNPq, the Brazilian Federal Agency for the Support and Evaluation of Graduate Education, the Brazilian Innovation Agency, and by state governments through 14 research foundations, including FAPESP. The time frame for project financing is up to six years. Of the INCTs in S\u00e3o Paulo State, 16 will be at the University of S\u00e3o Paulo, six at the University of Campinas, three at the Federal University of S\u00e3o Carlos, two at S\u00e3o Paulo State University and two at the Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials. The Institute for Technological Research, the Agronomic Institute of Campinas, the National Institute for Space Research and the Ant\u00f4nio Prudente Foundation will each house one institute. The list of co-funded projects (byt.ly\/INCT162014) was drawn up when the institutions met on October 5, 2016 at CNPq headquarters. The decision was one of the final management acts performed by chemist Hernan Chaimovich at the CNPq.
