This one reveals a microscopic lethal battle in water samples from reservoirs in inland Piau\u00ed State. They are <em>Lecane<\/em> rotifers infested with <em>Myzocytiopsis zoophthora<\/em> parasites, a species of zoosporic fungi\u2013organisms whose flagellated spores look like animals in the way they move.
