Agopyan was a professor at the USP Polytechnic School and served as vice-dean under Marco Antonio Zago. The 65-year-old topped the three-name list of candidates after receiving the highest number of votes from the university&#8217;s electoral college, which voted on October 30, and will take office on January 25, 2018, for a four-year term.
