China is in 14<sup>th<\/sup>, Russia 47<sup>th<\/sup>, India 48<sup>th<\/sup>, and South Africa 60<sup>th<\/sup><\/li>\n<li>In Latin America, Brazil is behind Chile (54<sup>th<\/sup>), Mexico (55<sup>th<\/sup>), and Costa Rica (56<sup>th<\/sup>). The exception is domestic market scale, which tops the list, and is the only economic indicator in which Brazil performed well<\/li>\n<li>The worst performers were economic and institutional, including investment, ease of starting a business, tariffs, political and regulatory environments, and labor productivity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"bibliografia separador-bibliografia\"><strong>Notes (1)<\/strong> Global Innovation Index.
