A specialist in glycobiology, Nader heads the university\u2019s Institute of Pharmacology and Molecular Biology, where she runs a laboratory internationally renowned for its research on heparin, an anticoagulant polysaccharide. She has taught close to 100 masters and PhD students and is a former president of the Brazilian Society for the Advancement of Science (SBPC), current vice-president of the Brazilian Academy of Science (ABC), and a member of the FAPESP Board of Trustees.
