{"id":395186,"date":"2021-05-27T14:33:38","date_gmt":"2021-05-27T17:33:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/revistapesquisa.fapesp.br\/?p=395186"},"modified":"2021-05-27T14:33:38","modified_gmt":"2021-05-27T17:33:38","slug":"scientific-papers-published-by-each-brazilian-state","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/revistapesquisa.fapesp.br\/en\/scientific-papers-published-by-each-brazilian-state\/","title":{"rendered":"Scientific papers published by each Brazilian state"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li>In 2019, 64,368 scientific papers were published<sup>1<\/sup> and indexed by the World of Science base with at least one author based in Brazil, representing an increase of 6.9% over 2018, when there were 60,203.<\/li>\n<li>This number accounts for 2.8% of global scientific output, which totals 2.33 million papers per year<\/li>\n<li>Authors based in S\u00e3o Paulo were involved in 26,463 articles, representing 41% of Brazil\u2019s total. The states of Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul, and Paran\u00e1 are next on the list, ranked by number of papers published by authors based in the state<sup>2<\/sup><\/li>\n<li>In terms of population, Brazil publishes 30.6 articles per 100,000 inhabitants.
