The inauguration ceremony took place at Pal\u00e1cio dos Bandeirantes on April 19. Ze\u2019s ticket, which included physician Maria Luiza Moretti of the University&#8217;s School of Medical Sciences as vice-dean, placed first with 51.97% of the votes in the second round of the selection process, held on March 24 and 25. Tom Z\u00e9 started his life at UNICAMP as a undergraduate student in food engineering in 1976. He later earned a master&#8217;s degree in the same field at the institution and in 1987, he completed his PhD in process engineering at the University of Applied Sciences in Merseburg, Germany. That same year, he became a professor at UNICAMP\u2019s School of Food Engineering.
