The fifth edition of <em>Medicina ambulatorial \u2013 Condutas de aten\u00e7\u00e3o prim\u00e1ria baseadas em evid\u00eancias <\/em>(Outpatient medicine \u2013 Evidence-based primary care practices; Artmed), by Bruce Duncan and Maria In\u00eas Schmidt, both from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, was named Classic Academic Book 2024. In the Anthropology, Sociology, Demography, Political Science, and International Relations category, there were two winners: <em>A torre: O cotidiano de mulheres encarceradas pela ditadura<\/em> (The tower: The daily lives of women imprisoned by the dictatorship; Cia. das Letras), by journalist Luiza Villam\u00e9a, and <em>Entre risos e perigos: Artes da resist\u00eancia e ecologia quilombola no alto sert\u00e3o da Bahia <\/em>(Between laughter and danger: Resistance arts and quilombola ecology in the hinterlands of Bahia; 7Letras), by anthropologist Suzane de Alencar Vieira of the Federal University of Goi\u00e1s. <em>Introdu\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0 hist\u00f3ria da filosofia: Volume 3:<\/em> <em>A patr\u00edstica \u2013 Introdu\u00e7\u00e3o ao nascimento da filosofia crist\u00e3 <\/em>(Introduction to the history of philosophy: Volume 3: Patristics \u2013 Introduction to the birth of Christian philosophy<em>; <\/em>Cia. das Letras), by philosopher Marilena Chaui of the University of S\u00e3o Paulo, won in the Philosophy and Science Communication categories. The winners each received a statuette and R$5,000.
