Zago, chairman of the FAPESP Board of Trustees, graduated from the University of S\u00e3o Paulo&#8217;s Ribeir\u00e3o Preto School of Medicine (FMRP-USP), where he also completed his master&#8217;s and doctorate. He chaired the National Council for Scientific and Technological Research (CNPq, 2007\u20132010), was dean of USP (2014\u20132017), and was S\u00e3o Paulo\u2019s State Health Secretary in 2018. Giorgetti wrote and directed films and documentaries such as <em>Jogo duro <\/em>(Hardball; 1985), <em>Festa<\/em> (Party; 1989), <em>S\u00e1bado<\/em> (Saturday; 1995), <em>Boleiros<\/em> (Soccer players; 1998), <em>Uma outra cidade<\/em> (Another city; 2000), <em>Boleiros 2<\/em> (Soccer players 2; 2006), <em>Solo<\/em> (Solo; 2010), <em>Cara ou coroa <\/em>(Heads or tails: 2012), <em>Uma noite em Sampa<\/em> (A night in Sampa; 2015), and <em>Vest\u00edgios da eternidade<\/em> (Traces of eternity; 2024). He was a resident artist with the Hilda Hilst Program at the Institute of Advanced Studies of the University of Campinas (UNICAMP). The two winners will receive R$400,000 each.
