Seg\u00fan la revista Nature, Enstrom analiz\u00f3 los registros de un estudio de la Sociedad Americana del C\u00e1ncer (ACS) y concluy\u00f3 que las mujeres de fumadores y de no fumadores tienen la misma posibilidad de morir por c\u00e1ncer de pulm\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>En una carta enviada al consejo curador de la universidad, el presidente de ACS, John Seffrin, acus\u00f3 a Enstrom de cometer errores de metodolog\u00eda y de utilizar registros sin informar quien era el patrocinador. Y pidi\u00f3 la prohibici\u00f3n de esa fuente de financiaci\u00f3n. Pero la carta desapareci\u00f3 antes de llegar al consejo, levantando sospechas sobre el rector, Robert Dynes, quien considera a la prohibici\u00f3n como una ofensa a la libertad acad\u00e9mica.<\/p>\n<p>La desaparici\u00f3n fue denunciada y el consejo resolvi\u00f3 actuar.
