La publicaci\u00f3n fue creada en 2009 para la difusi\u00f3n de los resultados de los trabajos de investigaciones cient\u00edficas y tecnol\u00f3gicas relativas al sector aeroespacial brasile\u00f1o, incluso en los aspectos atinentes a la gesti\u00f3n del conocimiento tecnol\u00f3gico y a los sistemas de software especializados. Publicada cada seis meses, la JATM tiene en su staff como editor jefe al ingeniero de materiales Francisco Crist\u00f3v\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o de Melo, investigador del IAE y docente del Instituto Tecnol\u00f3gico de Aeron\u00e1utica (ITA).
