A mediados de octubre fue a Italia a recibir el Trieste Science Prize, concedido anualmente por la Academia de Ciencias del Mundo en Desarrollo (TWAS), en reconocimiento a contribuciones a la astrof\u00edsica y por ampliar el conocimiento sobre la evoluci\u00f3n de la composici\u00f3n qu\u00edmica de las estrellas. El otro contemplado fue el f\u00edsico indio Roddam Narasimha. Cada uno recibi\u00f3 100 mil d\u00f3lares. Y a comienzos de noviembre, Beatriz fue una de las cinco agraciadas con el Pr\u00eamio L&#8217;Or\u00e9al-Unesco 2009, que todos los a\u00f1os distingue a cinco mujeres de notable contribuci\u00f3n a la ciencia. Tambi\u00e9n fueron laureadas Athene M. Donald, de la Universidad de Cambridge, Inglaterra, Eugenia Kumacheva, de la Universidad de Toronto, Canad\u00e1, Akiko Kobayashi, de la Universidad Nihon, Jap\u00f3n, y Tebello Nyokong, de la Universidad de Rhodes, Sud\u00e1frica.
