Hasta febrero de 2013 se hab\u00eda registrado un crecimiento del 190% en los casos detectados en Brasil con relaci\u00f3n al a\u00f1o anterior. Para ayudar al combate de esa enfermedad transmitida por el mosquito <i>Aedes aegypti<\/i>, el Centro de Investigaci\u00f3n para el Desarrollo de Materiales Funcionales (CMDF), uno de los Centros de Investigaci\u00f3n, Innovaci\u00f3n y Difusi\u00f3n, de la FAPESP, coordinado por Elson Longo, de la Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp) de Araraquara, desarroll\u00f3 un juego educativo gratuito para internet destinado principalmente a los ni\u00f1os. En el juego, Sofia, una ni\u00f1a de 7 a\u00f1os, combate contra los criaderos de los mosquitos transmisores de la enfermedad apostados en neum\u00e1ticos viejos y coloca arena en los recipientes para que no se acumule agua.
