Este mapeo figura en la <em>Gu\u00eda de centros y museos de ciencia de Am\u00e9rica Latina y el Caribe<\/em>, presentada en mayo pasado, durante el 14\u00ba Congreso de la Red de Popularizaci\u00f3n de la Ciencia y la Tecnolog\u00eda en Am\u00e9rica Latina y el Caribe (RedPop), en la ciudad de Medell\u00edn, Colombia. Esta gu\u00eda contiene informaci\u00f3n sobre la historia y la ubicaci\u00f3n de centros y museos de los pa\u00edses de la regi\u00f3n, incluso de jardines bot\u00e1nicos, acuarios, planetarios y zool\u00f3gicos. Y tambi\u00e9n sobre hechos curiosos de algunos de ellos, como en el caso del Museo Chiapas, en M\u00e9xico, erigido en una antigua c\u00e1rcel. \u201cLa cantidad de centros y museos es mayor que la que esper\u00e1bamos, pero a\u00fan resulta insuficiente\u201d, dice Luisa Massarani, directora de la RedPop, investigadora del Museo de la Vida de la Fundaci\u00f3n Oswaldo Cruz (Fiocruz) y coordinadora de la gu\u00eda. Seg\u00fan Massarani, se aspira a que esta gu\u00eda dote de mayor visibilidad a los museos y sirva de referencia a los investigadores.
