El grupo de Paul Cederna y Cindy Chestek implant\u00f3 injertos musculares en las extremidades de los nervios de los miembros amputados. El implante reinerv\u00f3 los injertos a los cuales se conectaron los electrodos. De esa manera, los investigadores amplificaron hasta 100 veces las se\u00f1ales el\u00e9ctricas enviadas a las pr\u00f3tesis. Algoritmos de aprendizaje de m\u00e1quinas traduc\u00edan las se\u00f1ales en movimientos, permitiendo el control de la pr\u00f3tesis sin entrenamiento previo.
