Los lagos atmosf\u00e9ricos, como se los ha llamado, suelen desplazarse lentamente hacia el oeste, llevando agua a las llanuras secas de la costa oriental de \u00c1frica. Al analizar los datos recolectados por sat\u00e9lites durante cinco a\u00f1os, el meteor\u00f3logo Brian Mapes, de la Universidad de Miami (EE. UU.), identific\u00f3 17 lagos atmosf\u00e9ricos. Algunos duraron m\u00e1s de seis d\u00edas, seg\u00fan constat\u00f3 el investigador, quien present\u00f3 su hallazgo en el mes de diciembre, en el marco del encuentro de la Uni\u00f3n Geol\u00f3gica Americana (AGU).
