Su nombre fue confirmado en abril por el gobernador Geraldo Alckmin. Aguirre Armelin completar\u00e1 el mandato de Ricardo Brentani, quien dej\u00f3 el consejo para asumir como director presidente de la Fundaci\u00f3n. Profesor titular, Armelin es\u00a0 doctor en bioqu\u00edmica, con posdoctorado en Berkeley, Universidad de California, Estados Unidos.
