Es el Centro Nacional de Referencia en Energ\u00eda de Hidr\u00f3geno, creado a trav\u00e9s de un convenio entre el Ministerio de Ciencia y Tecnolog\u00eda, la Unicamp, la Universidad de S\u00e3o Paulo (USP), Centrais Energ\u00e9ticas de Minas Gerais (Cemig) y la organizaci\u00f3n no gubernamental Vitae Civilis. Entre las investigaciones del \u00e1rea se encuentran las relacionadas a las c\u00e9lulas de combustible, candidatas a reemplazar en el futuro a los motores de combusti\u00f3n.
