El centro est\u00e1 ligado a la Facultad de Medicina. The <em>Journal of Venomous<\/em>, la primera revista electr\u00f3nica cient\u00edfica brasile\u00f1a, comenz\u00f3 a ser realizada totalmente en diskets en 1995 y pas\u00f3 a CD-ROM en 1998, en ediciones bianuales, siempre en ingl\u00e9s, distribuida entre investigadores de la Sociedad Brasile\u00f1a de Toxinolog\u00eda y de la Sociedad Internacional de Toxinolog\u00eda. \u201cDesde el inicio optamos por traducir todos los textos al ingl\u00e9s para llegar a los centros importantes que est\u00e1n en el exterior y no solamente a los brasile\u00f1os\u201d, dice Heloisa Maria Pardini Toledo, editora de textos de la revista. La edici\u00f3n actual engloba a las anteriores, de 1995 a 2000, y tiene 131 documentos, entre <em>papers<\/em> originales, tesis y revisiones.
