El gobierno noruego cavar\u00e1 una caverna artificial dentro de una monta\u00f1a helada, en donde se pondr\u00e1n equipamientos de ventilaci\u00f3n para mantener la temperatura entre los 10 y 20 grados bajo cero.<\/p>\n<p>Semillas de granos de todo el mundo ser\u00e1n recolectadas y almacenadas all\u00ed. En 2007, las instalaciones estar\u00e1n listas para garantizar la reposici\u00f3n aunque haya p\u00e9rdida de material almacenado en otros bancos. Las condiciones de temperatura bajo cero de Svalbard, con el subsuelo permanentemente congelado, garantizan el almacenamiento de las semillas.
