El potencial de estos genes y el uso de sus respectivas prote\u00ednas como ant\u00edgenos de vacunas est\u00e1n en estudio en el Instituto Butantan. Estos genes se identificaron en el Proyecto Genoma del Schistosoma, que involucr\u00f3 a 37 investigadores y estudiantes de la Universidad de S\u00e3o Paulo, del Instituto Butantan y del Instituto Adolfo Lutz.
