Se trata de un t\u00edtulo in\u00e9dito en Am\u00e9rica Latina. \u201cEstoy feliz y honrada con ese reconocimiento de una instituci\u00f3n tan importante\u201d, dijo\u00a0 Vanderlan. Seg\u00fan ella, el t\u00edtulo deber\u00e1 ayudar a destacar en Brasil la investigaci\u00f3n de productos naturales, \u00e1rea en que act\u00faa. Fundada en 1841 como Chemical Society of London, dicha instituci\u00f3n concede anualmente el t\u00edtulo de <em>fellow <\/em>para designar a sus miembros honorarios.
