Five more Brazilians at the TWAS

Five researchers from Brazilian institutions are among 55 who have been elected to join The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) this year: molecular biologist Carlos Menck, from the University of São Paulo (USP); epidemiologist Cesar Victora, from the Federal University of Pelotas (UFPEL); engineer and agronomist Tsai Siu Mui, from USP’s Center for Nuclear Energy in Agriculture (CENA); Spanish mathematician Lorenzo Díaz Casado, from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio), and physicist Sylvio Canuto, from USP. They will join 131 other Brazilians who are already members of the academy.
