The Bunge Foundation announced the list of winners of the 2016 edition of its award. In one of the award areas – exact sciences and technologies – José Vicente Caixeta Filho, researcher and former director of the Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture of the University of São Paulo (ESALQ-USP), was recognized in the Life and Work category for his efforts in the area of agroindustrial logistics. In the Youth category, which awards researchers under the age of 35, the winner was Hugo Miguel Varela Repolho, professor of logistics and transportation at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC/Rio). In the field of agricultural sciences, Sebastião de Campos Valadares Filho of the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV) won the award in the Life and Work category. His work is dedicated to animal nutrition with emphasis on evaluating feed for ruminants. In the Youth category, Felipe do Nascimento Vieira of the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) won the award for his research on growing shrimp.
