Give me shelter

During expeditions to investigate how climate change is impacting coral, oceanographer Marcelo Kitahara takes photographs of the underwater landscape and organisms. On the Timbebas reef, part of the Abrolhos National Marine Park in Bahia, he saw this stripy transparent shrimp on an endangered Condylactis gigantea anemone. The pair are known to have a mutually beneficial relationship: the shrimp helps clean the surface of the anemone, which excretes toxins that keep potential predators at bay.
