Higher education and research institutions in São Paulo State can become accredited to take part in the process to choose a new member of the Foundation’s Board of Governors, according to Directive PR no. 03/2012, published in the Diário Oficial [Government Gazette] of the State of São Paulo. The post will become vacant when board member José Tadeu Jorge’s term comes ends on June 28, 2012. The process will result in drawing up a three-name list, to be forwarded to the state governor so that he can choose the new member of the FAPESP Board of Governors. Voting will be electronic, from June 11 to 15, 2012, no votes being accepted after 5.00 p.m. on the last day. An electoral commission will count the votes at the Foundation’s headquarters and will produce the three-name list the three candidates with the largest number of votes. Institutions that wish to take part in the electoral process should apply to FAPESP for accreditation between the March 1and 20, 2012.
