Hormone treatment for superovulation in cows induces proliferation of blood vessels in the corpora lutea—glands in the ovaries central to maintaining pregnancy. This effect is shown in the scanning electron microscopy image obtained by groups led by veterinarians Carlos Eduardo Bezerra de Moura of the Federal Rural University of the Semi-Arid Region and Paula Papa Keohane of the University of São Paulo. An artistic edit by Hilquias de Andrade Costa for the 1st Seridoense Nanomedicine Exhibition highlights the blood vessels in lilac, from which successful branches sprout in red and aborted ones in yellow.
