International Collaboration

Estrategias_BuenoDaniel BuenoInternational collaborations in research supported by FAPESP have a new organization strategy, the São Paulo Researchers in International Collaboration (SPRINT) program, which consists of the simultaneous announcement of opportunities for international collaboration with various Foundation partners.  One of SPRINT’s main objectives is to contribute to the planning of seed funding proposals, encouraging researchers in São Paulo and international institutions to work together to prepare larger-scale proposals that are developed, written and carried out by teams in São Paulo and in the partner country.  For the approved requests, FAPESP will provide resources for travel, health insurance and a per diem allowance for researchers from the state of São Paulo on a scientific mission abroad.  Four calls for proposals will be published each year, with the deadline for submission of proposals on the last Monday of the months of January, April, July and October.  The deadline for submitting proposals for this first call is July 28, 2014.  The partner institutions participating in the call are the University of North Carolina, Charlotte; Baylat/StMBW, Germany; University of Sydney, Australia; and Heriot-Watt University, UK.  The SPRINT call for proposals is available at www.fapesp.br/8620.
