Lack of preparation for entrepreneurship

Among young Brazilian businesspersons 18 to 39 years old, 86% are unprepared to be entrepreneurs. This statistic appears in the research entitled Perfil do Jovem Empreendedor Brasileiro (Profile of the Young Brazilian Entrepreneur) by the National Confederation of Young Businesspersons (Conaje) in partnership with the journal Pequenas Empresas & Grandes Negócios (Small Companies and Big Businesses). Five thousand entrepreneurs from 26 states and the Federal District answered the electronic questionnaire on the web site. Of those seeking assistance, 27% searched for the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service (Sebrae), 17% searched for consulting services, 6% for universities and 4% for business incubators. The result also showed that 39% of entrepreneurs had graduate degrees.
