New members of the Board of Trustees

By a decree published in the São Paulo State Gazette, state governor Tarcísio de Freitas appointed three new members to the FAPESP Board of Trustees: Felipe Ferreira Guimarães Figueiredo, Franklim Shunjiro Nishimura, and Carlos Gilberto Carlotti Junior. Figueiredo, who has a degree in business administration from the Brazilian Institute of Capital Markets (IBMEC), is CEO of the natural-gas distribution company Comgás. Nishimura, who holds a degree in business administration from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP), is chair of the Partners’ Council and a member of the Board of Directors of the Jacto Group, which operates in various agribusiness sectors, and is also chair of the Board of Trustees of the Shunji Nishimura Foundation for Technology (FSNT), which focuses on education and innovation for agribusiness. Carlotti Junior, who has a degree in medicine from the Ribeirão Preto School of Medicine at the University of São Paulo (FMRP-USP), has been the dean of USP since 2022. Each will serve a six-year term, replacing Pedro Passos, Mayana Zatz, and Mozart Neves Ramos (Agência FAPESP, October 14).
