The University of Campinas (Unicamp) has opened up registration for the selection of innovative projects at its Science and Technology Park. Companies interested in carrying out research and development projects in partnership with Unicamp and wishing to use the park’s existing facilities or build their own space may participate. The park is managed by Unicamp Inova Innovation Agency and is intended, among other purposes, to enrich the education of students and the work of scientists at the university with the demands brought by businesses (see Pesquisa FAPESP Issue No. 206). Companies interested in using existing space may chose from among the facilities of Inovasoft, the Center for Innovation and Incubator, and the Biofuels Innovation Laboratory (LIB). Those wishing to build may choose spaces as large as 3,000 square meters within the park. The company selection process will be conducted by the evaluation committee, which will have a maximum of 90 days after a company registers to issue its decision.
