Ingenuity

Successful flight on mars

Nasa / Imageplus

On April 19, NASA’s robotic helicopter Ingenuity became the first aircraft designed on Earth to make a controlled and self-propelled flight on another planet. After its software had to be reinstalled remotely, Ingenuity switched on its rotors at 12:33 (Mars time), took off and remained stable in the air about 3 meters above the ground for 30 seconds before landing (see interview on page 74).
