Preliminary data from a doctoral research project show that the same percentage of female scientists works at federal research institutes in Brazil and France: roughly 32%. But while Frenchwomen hold 17% of all management positions at these institutions, their Brazilian peers hold no more than 9%. The author of the study is Ministry of Science, Techology and Innovation analyst Ludmila de Brito-Ribeiro, PhD candidate at Mackenzie University in São Paulo.
