The aim is to strengthen the country’s national aerospace industry and increase its current 1% share of the international aerospace market, which is worth US$320 billion per year. “The global space industry is growing rapidly; it is crucial Australia is part of this growth,” said Michaelia Cash, acting Minister of Industry, Innovation, and Science. Australia has a history in the sector: in 1967, it was one of the first countries to launch a satellite.
