Silent discourse of the slaves

In the 19th century, a million slaves were traded in Valongo Pier, in downtown Rio de Janeiro. A renovation made in view of hosting the Olympic Games in 2016 revealed the remains of Africans brought to Brazil between 1811 and 1831. Together, the work of historians, archaeologists, geneticists and pathologists can finally bring to light one of the most heinous crimes ever committed: slavery.
